Lady and the Sunshine is an Australian band that leads a triumphant return to what it is to write music. The lead vocals and guitar and brought to you by a man named Angus Stone, which could be the most epic musician name I have ever heard. He teamed up with a friend to record this album in an old water tank rigged as a recording studio. Angus has already been pretty well established as a folk duo with his sister in a band called Angus & Julia Stone. This album "Smoking Gun" is his first solo work and it has songs reminiscent of Coldplay's "Parachutes" album. In fact Stone's voice even seems to hit Chris Martin's falsetto a few times. "Smoking Gun" has many songwriter's songs but then it also has gritty rock like you would find in blues based band. "White Rose Parade" and "Jack Nimble" are a few of these tracks that seem to be out of place for this artist but they are still fantastic songs nonetheless. Look for more from this artist in the near future.
